Spring Family Pictures

Spring Family Pictures in Northern Colorado

Having spring family pictures taken every year is one of the best ways to document the beautiful, and often bittersweet changes of the people you love most. Whether it’s a new addition or rapidly growing child, family portraits can help commemorate life’s highs. Now is the time to start prioritizing taking memories of family and capturing them in a way that can last a lifetime.

Spring Family Portraits

Spring is a time to appreciate growth, and spring family portraits delightfully capture and symbolize the growth of family and love. After a long winter and crazy last year, new blossoms poking up all around us is an incredibly welcome sight. This makes the perfect backdrop for photographs, and allows for spring family pictures to become an adventure! Gone are the days of stagnant poses with little personality. Let the beautiful, natural light this time of year bring out the brightest smiles in all of you as you have fun as a family frolicking through your favorite field. If you’re lucky, a rainbow might even show its face, or we can capture your kid’s sweet laughter as they jump in puddles from the day before.

Spring Family Pictures Outfits Ideas

When choosing your spring family pictures outfits, there are SO many cute options! The choice really depends on where your photoshoot will be taking place, and the general vibe you are going for. One thing to keep in mind is where you will be displaying these pictures, or why. What’s the aesthetic of the room you’ll be placing prints on? What occasion are you sharing these family portraits for? Once you have a better idea of that, here are seven spring family photo outfits that you can pick from.

  1. Blue and pink harmony. While dad wears light blue, have mom in a pastel pink dress. The kids can then all be in mostly white to create a bright photo that is perfect for spring or fall with a heavy country or boho feel.

  2. Blue and white across the board. Have the boys wear blue and white, and dress the girls in mostly all white for a refreshing aesthetic that looks very modern as we prepare for summer.

  3. Dark and desert inspired. For a modern earthy look, put a dark shirt on dad with dark brown pants. Everyone else should be in beige or brown tones.

  4. Boho all the way. If wanting more of a boho style, add some lace with lighter beige and white tones thrown throughout the style mentioned above. Bonus points if mom is in a flowy dress and a breeze dances through.

  5. Peachy against a green backdrop. If bright rolling hills will be at your photoshoot, putting the entire family in varying shades of a peach or pink color looks soft and warm.

  6. Stand out with red or yellow. There’s nothing more stunning than tulips in the springtime, especially in Northern Colorado. Why not be one with the flowers, dressing in either contrasting red (if around yellow flowers) or yellow (if around red flowers) outfits, paired with soft blues.

  7. Rust and earth colors. These bold color schemes shouldn’t only be reserved for autumn! Rust colored dresses on the girls with beige pants and a denim-colored shirt on dad can complement any spring landscape beautifully.

What To Do With Your Family Pictures This Spring

Once you’ve taken beautiful family photos, you might be wondering what to do with all these images that now are dear to your heart. There are two options that are most popular: placing them into albums or using them as wall art.

Creating albums of your digital images has never been easier. There are many sites where you can create your own book of photos at a low cost, and it makes it simple to flip through your absolute favorite pictures on a rainy day.

On the other hand, for images that you want to see every day, wall art is the perfect option. You can print and create framed pieces to place individually or in small groups or pairs around the house. Or, you can create gallery walls. Gallery walls are all the rage nowadays since they have no boundaries and can show off as many stunning images as you want! For a more modern vibe, you can create an even, clean grid of photos. For something more classic, consider mixing up the size and orientation of your printed images. If you have more of a boho style, the frames being of different textures and colors can execute a unique look. There are even people who create bold shapes with their wall art to better show their family’s interests (think Disney castle or a superhero silhouette). The possibilities are truly endless!
